This bed is a great piece of furniture. I love that it is solid wood. It matches my current bedroom furniture perfectly. While the instructions seemed simple enough to assemble, a couple of pieces did not fit together well and I had to order replacement parts. Once I received those it was fairly simple to assemble but I would suggest having a rubber mallet as some of the parts fit very tightly together. Purchased driftwood beige - exactly as pictured and is indeed solid wood construction, but the finish covers the natural grain of the wood. It has a fake wood grain embossed in a thick, plastic-y finish, whereas I expected (and would have preferred) a pickled natural wood look. Regardless, its well made and well designed.
