I was happier than expected with this purchase. The painted finish is smooth and beautiful, and the wood is solid. It was super easy to assemble. It works but some of the parts of the headboard were not quite sized right and I had to install the screws at a bit of an angle. Furthermore, there is velcro on the bottom that keeps the wood slats attached to the bed and I can hear it move every time I sit on our son's bed.
