The Instructions Were Clear. That Was the Last Thing That Was. I want to be fair to the manual. It was clear, well illustrated, and I followed it without much trouble. I am reasonably handy. The listing says "Easy to Assemble" and "all necessary tools," and I would like to report that this is true if you also consider a hardware store to be one of the tools. Four trips. Not four trips over the life of the product. Four trips during assembly. The bed worked beautifully for one night. On the second night one of the support legs left the building. I don't know how. A guest may have kicked it. What I do know is that I came out in the morning to find a full-size cabinet lying at about thirty degrees, with the screws pulled clean out of the piece that anchors the spring-loaded tension mechanism. The listing describes this mechanism as a "smooth hydraulic lift system for effortless opening and closing, providing a safe and user-friendly experience for all ages." I would like to submit some field data. Two adult men pushing on it accomplished nothing. What accomplished something was a ratchet strap. Once the bed was hanging in the air on a strap I bought for hauling firewood, I tried to reinstall the screws with a 90-degree screwdriver purchased specifically for this occasion. It did not fit. Nothing fits back there. Trip four was for bolts. There was a stretch where I had my hand inside a loaded spring assembly held in place by nylon webbing, doing the math on which finger I could most afford to lose. What finally worked was disassembling the folding half of the bed and removing it entirely, which is to say I took the bed out of the bed in order to reinstall the part that holds the bed up. My teenager went out and dug the steel shipping straps out of the trash, and those went back on to cage the springs while we worked, which is apparently their real job and which is why they should not be the first thing a customer throws away. When it came time to release the ratchet, I did it from across the room with a very long screwdriver, on the theory that the screwdriver had fewer nerve endings. We also cut two pieces from our scrap pile to shim the bottom rails, which arrived misaligned. Here is the current situation: the bed aligns fine at both edges and bows out roughly half an inch in the middle, where it catches the lower board and shoves it outward every time we try to close it. Photo attached, since it doesn't sound like much until you see it. The practical result is that we own a Murphy bed we cannot fold. It is a bed. It has always been a bed. It will be a bed forever. "Maximize space and style." We have maximized neither. The LED light does have seven colors, and it works.. Todd. Auburn, CA. Sun Sep 06 2026

I was looking for an extra bed without the commitment of a full-time bedroom, and this Murphy bed fit the bill. It took about 2.5 hours to put together by myself. I referenced the assembly youtube to help get the actual visual process along the way. There were reviews about the mattress not being super comfortable (I would agree- functional, not what I would offer to a guest), so I purchased a memory topper for when it's being used. It is easy to transform to a bed. I did also make sure I had a rug to put under it, as someone commented that the one frame piece is not connected to the rest of the frame when in bed form and might move around. It is a quality piece of furniture, looks lovely in both forms, and has made my bonus room an extra space for guests.. Sarah. Forks, WA. Sat Nov 12 2022

Bought this as a guest bed in our FL house. It was delivered in 4 boxes & “some assembly required” took 3 mechanically inclined guys a little over an hour to assemble. There was one “ding” in the top but not bad enough to return. It has not been used yet so I can’t say how comfortable the mattress is. Great concept, looks good in the room, offers storage for bedding in the drawers & doesn’t take up a huge amount of floor space. Purchased during Wayfair Days so got the best price that I had seen in months of tracking.. Margaret Sikora. Valparaiso, IN. Tue May 12 2026

We absolutely love our Mandujano Murphy Bed in the Barnwood finish. After downsizing, we needed our larger office to double as a guest room, and this bed is perfect. It’s solid wood, extremely well built, and the design is brilliant — when folded up, it looks like a beautiful chest of drawers, and the bottom drawer is a real storage drawer that holds pillows, sheets, and a blanket. We bought the matching mattress thinking we might upgrade it later, but it’s genuinely comfortable. When our twin sons were visiting, one son slept on it with a plush topper and liked it so much he stayed in the Murphy bed even after the guest room became available when his brother departed. The Barnwood color blends perfectly with my wife’s Italian furniture, and the stowed design leaves room for a wall‑mounted TV above it. The built‑in power module with USB and standard outlets is a thoughtful touch. This bed is stable, comfortable, compact when stored, and very reasonably priced for the quality. We’re thrilled with it. Full endorsement.. Gerry. Charlotte. Sat Aug 22 2026

It arrived in 2 packages, with quite a few dings in the corners of the wood pieces. I still put most of it together since many of the corners wouldnt be seen. Unfortunately the main front piece had a big ding and split at the corner so we requested a replacement part. The replacement came, and it was damaged in the same area! Definitely not great quality materials, and it should probably be packed in 3 packages so it's not so heavy for transit. Would not recommend.. Nicole. Sarasota, FL. Thu Jul 03 2025

Well made. Easy to put together. One suggestion is to number the parts with a small removable sticker. A lot of the parts are similar. Mattress is not useful. Please upgrade to a more firmer mattress. The mattress it comes with is too soft and you start feeling the bed after the first night. But a great piece and addition to my home. Anonymous. When it's time for bed, simply unlatch the doors and lower the mattress supports. With the additional bonus of a built-in charging station, you can keep a cellphone charger or alarm clock close by.

Assembly was two people. I didnt find it difficult, just took time. The white painted finish has some cracking. Not too noticeable. My daughter spent 5 nights on the bed -said it was comfortable. She did crack one of the slats in two sitting on the edge. I may be able to repair. Net net, it is serving its purpose for occasional house guests. I flanked the cabinet with two tall bookcases also purchased on Wayfair. Jillian. Saint Paul, MN. Sun Sep 13 2026

Very very difficult to build. The directions are terrible so be ready to watch an instructional video to build. For 2 people it took over 9 hours to build because the directions were so bad. I wouldn’t buy this again. Ashley. Seattle, WA. Wed Feb 18 2026

Love this unusual Murphy stand-alone "flip" bed! It's an expansive desk with integrated electrical and USB port. When the need for an additional guest bed arises, you undo just two large screw pins and the desk portion lowers (with everything on it!) and the twin bed "flips" into view, and you reinsert the screw pins. It is impressively good wood - very sturdy. Straps hold the twin mattress (bought separately) very snugly. It is SUBSTANTIAL in size and I hired professional assemblers to put it together - took two guys a little over two hours.. Caryn. Washington Dc. Wed Jan 29 2025

When all closed up it just takes 10 square feet of floor space. The bed also includes a tri-fold, solid foam mattress that easily stores inside the cabinet when not in use. Easy to use, easy to love.

I adore this cabinet/murphybed. The appearance and mechanism is excellent. The mattress is surprisingly comfortable. The price for the whole is meh. What did not esrn it a five star ratng is that the boards located by the latch are manufactured with a thin sheet of wood. When this was put together and the screwing mechanism needed to be completed, the screws split the wood because of the thin sheet that was used in its manufacture. :/ When I went to report to Wayfair to file a claim, there was no specific way to describe the issue because of the way Wayfair's reporting system is set up.. Absolutely love the beds. They are solid and very good quality. My only complaint is that both had minor damage and one had permanent marker on the finish, likely from the packaging.. Tracy. Ellicott City, MD. Sun Jun 15 2025
