Bar Stools & Counter Stools By TOOU

Sometimes, shapes can evoke memories much like scents. They can preserve and unlock cherished recollections, unearthing emotions hidden just beneath the surface. In the case of the Cadrea collection, this analogy rings true. It pays homage to the iconic form of a bistro chair, akin to Marcel Proust’s madeleine, while seamlessly blending the comfort and ease of everyday use with a fresh and contemporary design. The collection consists of a chair and two high and low stools, offering the essentials to fulfill the needs of any indoor or outdoor space, be it a home, restaurant, or café. Cadrea, a monoblock made of polypropylene and fiberglass, is known for its lightweight build, resistance to light, and weatherproofing.

Super nice. Well designed and functional. Quietly elevate your outdoor space.. Somchai. New York, NY. Thu Jul 16 2026

A flowing design triggered directly by natural ergonomics. Its design is inspired by the style of the 50s but with a touch of absolute contemporaneity, that of honest and democratic design, made possible by an advanced but relatively simple construction technique.

This was just what I needed for the high top table I purchased for my media room. Straightforward assembly, though I would recommend doing so with another person.. Jacqueline. Bend, OR. Sat Apr 03 2021

Some objects maintain their form almost unchanged over time, and design’s role is to interpret and refine their archetype. This holds true for everyday items that are so frequently used that their shape becomes self-evident: a fork, a plate, a chair. Their form reflects their function, and their aesthetics must never be compromised. This principle has always guided our design approach—creating flowing designs directly inspired by natural ergonomics.Ta, a monosyllabic word as simple as a child’s first utterance in Chinese, means ‘him’ or ‘her.’ It signifies human identity, irrespective of gender, universal and inclusive. A chair, indeed, is a distinctly human object, molded to serve its purpose. It follows the contours of the body, whether for dining or working at a table. It offers a resting position, suspended between wakefulness and slumber, a place to pause or enjoy the company of others. With Ta, we aim to provide an elegantly simple response to the need for both ergonomics and aesthetics.Ta’s design draws inspiration from the style of the 1950s but infuses it with a contemporary touch—honest and democratic design, made possible through an advanced yet relatively straightforward construction technique. It offers a wide array of solutions, with its strength lying in its flexibility. Three solid, flowing, and sinuous shells can be paired with five curved metal tubular bases featuring wooden elements, each characterized by essential design. The color palette reflects contemporary preferences, and the option to add seat pads to the shells allows for numerous customized combinations.

These chairs were delivered quickly on the day that was promised when we placed the order. They were easy to assemble. They are light yet sturdy and very comfortable. We love the blue color in our mostly white kitchen.. Bi. Vero Beach, FL. Sun Feb 02 2025

Gertrude Stein famously said, ‘A rose is a rose is a rose,’ suggesting that things are what they are. However, she also conveyed that we often attribute personal and universal emotions to a specific name. In the world of design, an object stands out for its aesthetics, shape, color, manageability, and functionality. Yet, only a chair possesses the unique ability to virtually disappear from our view when we use it. If we forget about it while sitting, it signifies exceptional comfort, gracefully supporting our body’s weight and allowing us to rest, work, or sit at a table for extended periods. Indeed, it fully meets our expectations of sitting. Whether at home, in a café, or at the office, we sit everywhere. The act of sitting is even more frequent than eating or drinking. We sit dozens of times a day without even consciously acknowledging this automatic yet fundamental action. In reality, only an uncomfortable seat is immediately felt and noticed as soon as we sit down. Holi is a chair designed to cradle your body at the right height, offering comfortable back support while maintaining a sleek, non-bulky profile. The collection provides a wide range of seating solutions, with or without armrests, and two different stool heights, all of which are stackable. Holi is available with either a closed or perforated backrest, creating a seamless stylistic connection between indoor and outdoor furniture to cater to various living space needs. The metallic structure is painted in the exact shade as the polypropylene shell, creating the impression of a unified, monolithic element.

Love these fun, punchy stools. Very comfortable and durable (we've had them about 6 months now). They are easy to clean and the orange punch of color is just perfect with our white and walnut midcentury-inspired kitchen.. Brent. Prescott, AZ. Mon Jun 17 2024
