Our lift-top coffee table features a wooden top that smoothly raises or lowers by a high-quality metal mechanism and spring. The instructions were straightforward and the assembly process was mostly easy. The table feels solid, looks nice, and was a great deal. However, the two metal lifting mechanisms included with my package did not match. Only one of them lined up with the diagram on the instructions, and neither one lined up correctly with the screw holes in the table. Ultimately I used a power drill and simply screwed them in as well as I could (I did not want to deal with a back-and-forth attempt at replacements). Now the top panel does not line up completely perfectly with the corners of the table when closed, but fundamentally it works fine and rests level. I selected this particular table because the wood grain was real and not simulated. I was not disappointed! Assembly involved screwing 4 bolts per leg into threaded insert on the underside of the table top. They even provided a hex drive for a cordless screwdriver to expedite assembly. One curious element was how the legs were strapped into the back of the table with staples — which detracted from my perceived vale of the table. Good quality build. Excellent for the price. Was a bit smaller than what i expected. Quick shipping, and good packaging. Assembly - Easy, about to 1-2 hours depending on your experience. Most tricky part of assembly was screwing in the lift-top mechanism into the table sides and top, due to lack of space and odd position for screwing in.
