Did take a while to put together, but was able to do it by myself. Got this for a guest bed in the office that only gets used sporadically. For a mattress we are using a Sleep Number C4 bed we just upgraded from in the bedroom. This cabinet was perfect as it had the solid base a Sleep Number requires and the entire bed, mattress pad, pillows, and comforter ALL fit inside the cabinet and drawer. I did have to drill a small hole in the bed base near the head off the bed for the air tube and another in the back board to plug in the air pump, but both are in places not visible with the bed open or closed.
We contemplated a traditional Murphy bed, but they seem to need the weight of a mattress to help hold them open? And they lacked storage space for all the other bedding to make up the bed. Since storage space is always in short supply, this bed seemed a better fit for our needs.
I only gave 4 stars for some minor gripes. First are the stickers used to cover the cam locks. Wow is that cheesy. Most furniture I have put together using cam locks have a plastic disc that goes into the cam lock hole. However, the only place these are visible are the inside of the headboard when the bed is open. I would have appreciated plastic caps for this area vs the stickers. My only other complaint is about the cam locks themselves. Other furniture I have put together (including the glass door cabinet next to the bed chest in the photo) had a stop so you can't insert the screwdriver too far and potentially run into the cam lock pin when turning the cam lock. I am not sure if this is what kept happening, but I did have a few cam locks where I just could not get them to turn as far as they should have. Will call this one user error, but with a properly designed cam lock this isn't an issue.
Like I said, pretty minor, and overall very pleased with the bed for what we needed. It is also really easy to open and set up as I had to do that half a dozen times or so figuring out how to get the Sleep Number air pump connected and the holes drilled.. Cheran. Lakeview, OR. Fri Oct 02 2026
