Blu Dot Bookcases

The trick is there is no trick. What you see is all you need. The bookcase is about functional space that celebrates a single material and elevates your materials reading and otherwise. Back it up against a sofa, use it along a wall, or float it.

Looks great and is easy to put together. Sadly, the shelving space does not accommodate the usual sized book sizes so you have to lay many of them down horizontally.. Jeffrey. Boston, MA. Wed May 27 2026

Understated looks and smart storage. This whole simplicity thing down pat. Display all your fine ephemera up top and cram the rest of your belongings behind classy closed doors with absolutely zero judgment.

I was impressed with the quality of the product, and visually, it’s exactly as pictured. The long boards were not marked front or back which is very important. The assembly could have been easier if all pieces were marked. Had to be disassembled and switched for that reason.. Dawn. Cedar Falls, IA. Wed Apr 15 2026

Be your search engine. Browser is a wall-mounted shelving system designed to be a capable solo unit or added to (endlessly) as needed. With wood uprights and shelves, Browser can accommodate piles of vinyl, books galore, and multitudinous collections.

I got two of these with the base bookcase and am very happy with them. I got the walnut with black shelves. The materials are of superb quality. Everything arrived undamaged. I hired someone to put these together and mount them, which cost me about $100. I looked high and low for bookcases and the value here is outstanding.. Greg. Arlington, VA. Sun Sep 17 2023

Wood shelves and metal blocks stack without the need for hardware forming beautiful voids and cubbies to house all things in a perfectly curated manner. Two widths of foot and shelf blocks celebrate asymmetry while bringing stability and visual appeal.

Perfect fit our needs. Crazy beast to build but also high quality.. Debra. Texas. Thu May 21 2026

Clean lines, understated looks, and smart storage. Open Plan has this whole simplicity thing down pat. Display all your fine ephemera up top and cram the rest of your belongings behind classy closed doors with absolutely zero judgment.

I finally pulled the trigger on this shelving unit, as it was the perfect size for an odd-sized wall in a rental house. Overall, the piece is solid but has some flaws indicative of flatpack -- small inconsistencies like visible gaps in a few places where they shouldn't be, visible factory-applied adhesive in a few places, and one shelf with an edge cut slightly crooked to where it was a frustration point during assembly. BluDot has consistently and substantially raised their prices over the past couple of years (this shelf has almost doubled in price), but quality seems as though it is not keeping up with the price point. I purchased the low shelf from the same Open Plan series a couple of years ago and it does not suffer from any of the same issues. I would definitely recommend waiting to purchase BluDot items until they run their annual (sometimes semi-annual, these days) sale.. S. Owensboro, KY. Fri Apr 24 2026

I love this bookcase. It just arrived yesterday and I assembled and installed it in my guest room/office. It looks fantastic in my mid century Palm Springs home, holds a lot of books and collectibles but doesn't take up a lot of space. Could not be happier. Craig. Jersey City, NJ. Tue Nov 09 2021

Love this! Very easy to assemble. It could’ve come with some wall mounting hardware or at least mentioned the size needed. I used drywall mounts. Looks great. Will be used as a space to set my laptop down for some work Zoom calls I take in the living room. Just what I wanted for the space it’s in.. Nicole. Pnw. Sun Oct 23 2022

Sometimes, good design is about what's not there. The Chicago series takes advantage of negative space, creating smart, elegant storage. Eight floating boxes with powder-coated tubular steel legs.

Words can’t describe how much I love this bookcase!!! It is well made, a little time consuming to put together, but 100% worth the time. Perfect piece for an accent wall.. Erin. Andover, MA. Sat Feb 07 2026

For the most part, this is a sturdy, well made and nice looking bookcase that required assembly. I would have thought that wood toned plugs would have been included to hide the screws.. Christine. Santa Barbara, CA. Mon Apr 21 2025
