This is the best idea ever, I love it! I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down. The look of the bed frame itself is great, and the color of the headboard fabric and the frame's wood, appeared true to the photos in the listing. The bed gets a slight hit due to the time and work to put it together. For a one person job it took about 4 hours to put together, and much of that comes from the need to drill all the holes for the slats, as you'll be drilling in to the bed frame itself, and you'll want to predrill those holes (and make sure you don't over drill as it's very possible to break through the bottom and expose the sharp bottom end of the screw. The tolerances around some of the screws and holes that are predrilled are also very tight, and getting the plastic washers on isn't the easiest. So make sure to have a power drill, appropriate drill bits, and a Phillips head bit, or else this bed could take you upwards of 5 to 6 hours to put together.. Richard. Jersey City, NJ. Assembly took about an hour with two people, and while it could definitely be done solo, having an extra set of hands made the process much smoother and faster. Everything arrived well-packaged and carefully protected with Styrofoam, so there was no damage at all. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, with both pictures and written steps that made each stage straightforward. I am very happy with this solid wood bed frame. The acacia wood feels strong and durable, and the gray finish looks even better in person, and it dresses up the room giving it a modern, clean look. It gives the room a more put together look and the gray finish is even nicer in person than in the photos. It was very easy to put together. The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and all the parts were well labeled, and everything fit exactly as it should have so I didn’t have to make any adjustments. I was able to assemble the queen-size frame without getting frustrated. Once it was put together it felt solid and there was no wobbling, or no squeaking. I love that no box spring is needed. The platform design provides excellent mattress support, and the height of the bed is perfect. Since upgrading to this bed frame, my mattress even feels more stable and more supported, which has made a difference in how I sleep. I purchased two of these beds. Before buying, I read several reviews mentioning that mattresses had fallen through, or that the bed had fallen apart. After assembling both frames, I can understand how that could potentially happen — at least with one of them. There was a noticeable difference in material quality between the two beds. One feels solid and sturdy, and the slats seem like they will hold up well. The other felt more fragile during assembly. The “wood” (not real wood) was splintering slightly while we were screwing the parts together, which makes me question the durability over time. Assembly took about 2.5 hours per bed with two people. They look great once assembled, and I really love how they turned out. However, the inconsistency between the two frames makes me think quality control may be an issue. PACKAGING great- everything arrived with no damage. Nice looking bed overall and for the price it is a good deal. HARDWAREASSEMBLY came with all the necessary tools which was a nice surprise. It was fairly easy to assemble. We did end up with one screw that had too much powder coatingpaint so it wouldn’t allow you to screw the sides of the headboard in. They did not provide an extra screw to be able to swap out. Took a little effort but we were able to make it work. They provide you with 2 corner protectors but the adhesive sticks better to the red peel-off cover than to the part itself or the bed. MATTRESS we have a 13” thick mattress. If you have a mattress 11” or less it will slide right under the headboard. STABILITY a little iffy. Probably okay for a child but a teen or adult seems like they need to carefully sit down.
