With its significant feature of whale tail-shaped backrest, the classic Whale Tail Chair (also known as Nicolle chair) was designed and originally made in France in the 1930s to meet the safety and comfort standards required by factories and workshops of the time. It is ergonomic and comfortable and fits the constraints of small spaces.

I think this would be too small and uncomfortable to use as a dining chair, but I purchased it as an accent chair for our den, and it's perfect! I love the design which is somewhat sculptural, and it's definitely a conversation piece! We're very pleased with it.. Karen. Sodus Point, NY. Sat Jan 28 2023
