Very sturdy and comfortable to sit on. These were a little challenging to put together as there are no real pre drilled holes and the wood was too hard for the screws to go directly into. Had to pre drill then they were easy to assemble. Looks nice in the kitchen. Our bar is an odd height so we went with bar height. The stools are comfortable enough to be able to sit without support..
