Pleasantly surprised as to the quality, color and assembly. This bed is for our guest bedroom. First, I highly recommend that 2 people assemble the bed vs doing it by yourself. Some of the pieces are slightly heavy, which makes it difficult to turn the screw and hold the piece in place without help from someone else. Instructions were easy to follow. This bed was very easy to build. I built it by myself with maybe an hour a little bit more than an hour. The instructions will clear on how to use all the materials that they packed into the back of the headboard. The only thing that wasn’t clear was where to put the slats when you were adding that in but again you can use your best judgment of where to add in the screws. I was not thrilled about a dark color so I took fabric and glue gunned it all around the wood pieces after I assembled most of it, their was enough room to do this and it worked great. I used a soft upholstry fabric and also laid batting on the broad surfaces. The mechanism works great and does not shut unless you pull it down.
