A slender Balinese woman in a white sarong carries a didgeridoo in this original status from Bali's Made Pastika. The artist carves the statuette by hand from suar wood, an Asian hardwood, and gives it a distressed painted finish to lend it the look of a treasured antique.

This beautiful bamboo flute comes from Made Sudiasa. A latticework of jasmine surrounds the sleek instrument, each blossom painted by hand. A coconut shell mouthpiece distinguishes the flute. "Its sound is one of beauty that blows with the wind to faraway lands," the musician confides.

Dionisio Quilla crafts a beautiful quena flute, an instrument dating to the Inca Empire. Quena means "many-holed object" in the Quechua language. It is said to have entranced birds to soar above its player, which may be no wonder given that early versions of the quena were fashioned from condor bone. Quilla crafts this piece from diablo Fuerte or yellow wood and paints it by hand. It includes a bright fabric carrying case.
