These are really nice curtains. The background is definitely white and the stripe that runs through them does vary between navy to a lighter denim to a very light gray, but for me that was perfect for my living room. The fabric is a fairly heavy cotton (and part polyester; but they have the feel of cotton for sure). I ordered 3 pairs, and all of my stripes lined up once I hung them (I noticed in the reviews that some people complained about that). I washed them according to the instructions and they came out perfectly with no shrinkage and after ironing they looked awesome. During the day they let plenty of light in the room, and at night they definitely provide privacy even though they are semi sheer. I highly recommend these and I am extremely happy with my purchase.. Sooo Pretty! These sheers will look great in my bedroom. I love the large hem and the pinch pleat. Why 4 stars? What an annoying and cumbersome care label. I am in the process of removing the care labels and I must go in and rip out the piece left over after cutting and sew up the hem (you will definetly see the label if not removed when the curtains are closed), the label is sewed into the hem, there is not an extra top stitch on the label that would make it easy to remove, these labels are sewn in as part of the curtain. Why??? I know there are legal reasons to secure the label to the product but there has to be other ways than this no matter the low cost. Currently awaiting a replacement as I received the wrong sheers. Wayfair is very kindly having the error corrected, so I will of course review the correct set of sheers once I receive them. The ones I received are lovely too (and worth more than 1 star if that had been my original order), but they just aren’t the style I was expecting or wanted for my room.
