The only marking on the drawing is in his handwriting and says, ''Something like this.'' The proportions, and interpretation, of the drawing were calculated based on the scale of other drawings from this time period.

This Desk Globe was adapted from the design for a large brick pedestal in Booth Park, for the town of Glencoe, Illinois. The project, never developed, included covered archway entrances, lights, troughs for watering horses, seating and sculptures.
