Not as thick as I had hoped, closer to a thick mattress cover. Not much different from a down blanket, really. Still, it’s a great deal for something that is great for your health due to it being hypoallergenic and good for your skin! It’s basically a nice topper for firming up a foam mattress, or adding a hypoallergenic layer overtop something that’s not rated as being very “green”. We first tried this over a firm latex pad, and it did not add much noticeable improvement in thickness or softness. Next, we tried this down pad over a 2 inch thick foam pad, and it made all the difference! I am not at all a fan of foam pads. However, using this topper over the foam pad makes the foam less susceptible to sinking! Love it! This is a very nice foam mattress topper. It is very firm and was super easy to open. It has the straps on the corners which is awesome because this will go in my RV and will stay put during travel.
