While the covering seems thick enough there is excess amount of it and it wrinkles all over unlike previous mats I've used for my daycare kids which have been very snug all around. The foam inside is not very dense and I am concerned it will compact quickly with regular use. I will update as things do or don't develop as I just received them...after waiting 2 1/2 months!. My grandson uses it as a nap mat on the bed. It was the thickness of a regular comforter not thick padded but soft enough if ya have it on a carpet or a bed. We folded it up. I’d recommend placing a small blanket under it if it’s on a hard floor. Love cute bright design. True to color and the pillow fits easily into the sewn in pillowcase part.
