I ordered this to have another hob for when preparing larger meals and entertaining. Sadly, the description was not very clear that it was induction and required induction compatible cookware. This has since been added. I did not have compatible cookware, which was an excuse to buy a new set. Never having used induction before, I did not know what to expect. It is going to take some trial and error to use the temperature setting, but I have to say it steeped a pot of tea in five minutes! From the photo you can see in five minutes the temperature was over 160 degrees. The fan is not too loud, but something to note if you have never used an induction plate before. The instruction manual is basic, so I will have to play around with this to learn all of its features. With that being said, I think I will really like this hob! If you are on the fence about switching to induction and aren't quite ready to fully commit, I highly recommend a hybrid setup like this. I paired this 30" unit with a gas burner next to it, and it's the perfect size to get you used to this new way of cooking. Honestly though, induction has become so fast and precise that I’m not even sure how much I’ll actually use the gas burner moving forward. You won't regret making the jump. The touch panel controls do take a little bit of getting used to if you're coming from traditional knobs, but it's a quick adjustment. By far, the absolute best part about it is how easy it is to clean, but I am more cautious with it now just to keep it looking pristine. One piece of advice if you are renovating: Make sure you double-check the depth of the unit before you finalize your cabinets. This is a big upgrade from our previous glass cooktop. I have to give this 5 stars to be fair, as I have not been able to set it up since the delivery. The issue is that the space we allotted for it will not work. Beautiful induction rangetop. So far everything works as expected and with a 2 year warranty I figured we are covered for the unexpected.
