so far it is keeping cold. the freezer space is cut down with the extra ice maker,if i leave it off and use the extra room, i am in fear that the ice may not start working again. i really like it,but it might not start working if it is left off to long. so i have been informed by LG. This is a very nice refrigerator and freezer. The option to have cubed or crushed ice is terrific! The unit operates extremely quietly! The downside is not being able to adjust the shelves so a gallon of milk can be on a shelf while other shelves still have room for containers.
