I wish they had made the bin metal, and that the bin was also refrigerated because the ice melts in the plastic bin, but they all have plastic bins and this problem. I like my ice maker that makes nugget-ice. Two bottles of water makes about half gal. of ice. I keep it in my freezer untill needed. The nugget size ice is very easy to handle when putting in glasses. Was more than what I wanted to pay, but it works very well and hope it last for a long while. Great little ice maker. I love how slim it is in comparison to my previous maker. A fairly quiet unit and has been running for a few days now with no issues. The light on the inside is a nice feature and goes well with my led lit water dispenser at night for dim light. The door is a bit awkward but I’ll get used to it. My previous maker had a top lift door and it was easier to scoop the ice out - this one you have to pull the drawer out so far or all the way to access the ice. This ice maker is fabulous! Firstly- it makes ice SO fast. Literally within minutes of plugging it in, it had ice made. We use a lot of ice and it has the tray filled back up to full in no time. Up to 100 lbs a day is a ton of ice, and it stores and keeps 20 lbs in the trays. The ice quality is the chewable nugget ice everyone knows and loves.
