This is a piece of garbage. It lasts less than 2 years then just stops working even with water filter connected. They do not care that you spent and do not stand behind their product. Terrible! Do not buy this!

This is a great option for an under counter ice maker. It is fairly easy to install, works quickly, and keeps ice frozen even when not actively making ice. Good value.

We loved this ice maker....until it quit working at about 18 months old. First it started tripping the breaker - took it to appliance repair and he said it wasn't the machine, so we placed the breaker and that helped stop the tripping problem. But then the ice wouldn't stay frozen. Everyday we came in to a block of frozen ice in the bucket. We finally gave up and now have a $1000+ machine in our kitchen that doesn't work.

I’ve had other ice makers in the past and they all failed and always wondered why the ice maker in my standard fridge never failed. Well someone finally put two and two together and came up with a decent machine. Now there is a major difference between this machine and those from the past - this machine you need to empty out every so often as like your fridge’s ice maker this makes ice until the bar rises enough to stop ice from producing and if you don’t clean it out you ice gets old. With the other machines I had the ice was fresh as it was in a constant circle of pumping water and cycling over the condenser making ice that falls into a bin and it eventually will melt and pump out the water into your drain over and over again - oh and the machine was not a freezer. Those machines are constantly running as a result the constantly need maintenance and expensive parts - the last straw was $500 plus for a drain pump. Thus machine is a freezer and makes ice - not the best ice but it works. The only maintenance is to shut it down every so often dump out the ice let it sit for a bit, then wipe it out and you are good to go.
