I ordered a 3” metal box spring to put under a 12” memory foam mattress and it’s the perfect height to cover the opening under the headboard but isn’t too high. Very easy to put to together. It is a very sturdy bedframe for the price. The “espresso” color is fairly accurate in person vs what you see online in the pictures. The only reason we give this bedframe 4 stars is because one of the posts came damaged as seen in the second picture. Additionally, instructions were pretty straightforward. There was one moment where it isn’t straightforward, as it doesn’t mention there is not a pre drilled hole for a screw for the middle portion of the frame. The bed frame has been pretty sturdy since we put it together, and had no issues putting our premium king sized mattress on it. I love this bed! I got it in the grey wash color and the pictures dont do it justice. It is so pretty and so expensive looking. This was packaged well and easy to put together.
