The frame is built from solid and engineered wood with a walnut brown finish and plenty of distressing for a rustic feel. This bed has a wide, rectangular headboard that frames its design. We love how each side of the headboard showcases built-in shelves that hold books, accent pieces, and an alarm clock. Best of all, the included slats eliminate the need for a box spring, and they directly support a fitting mattress of your choice (sold separately).

5 stars for the bed but unfortunately, the experience took much longer than it should have. Our first delivery arrived incomplete, with only two pieces of wood—more than half of the bed was missing. We had to return it, and a full replacement shipment was sent, which delayed everything, including our assembly (which, of course, we still had to pay for). The new shipment did arrive with all the parts, but we also noticed some chipping and damage on the side. At that point, we decided to keep it because we were tired of going back and forth. Pleased with my purchase. The queen size bed frame and headboard came in excellent condition. The construction appears solid. Assembly took less than 30 minutes. However, if you arent very familiar with furniture assembly instructions, you may struggle a little as none of the pieces were labeled with the numbers used in the instructions.
