I love the look, but I was surprised to find these are completely plastic. I understand Mepra is a high-standard brand, which explains the premium price, but it is hard to justify paying this much for lightweight material. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very pleased with this set. They are beautiful looking knives. The handles have a very nice feel in your hand. The weight of the knives is just right. They cut wonderfully. I sliced through a slightly soft tomato like it was butter. I was able to cut through homemade sourdough bread easily without any frustration. Cleaning has been a breeze with no issues. I have always hand washed my knives and let them dry and these have done great with that system. One thing I really like is that the knives are labeled.
