I almost deducted a star for the instructions that could have been more clear, or the labeling of parts. I had to take it apart 3x during construction and turn the frames around to align them properly, because they weren't all labeled "front" and "back" and the pictures in the back weren't clear, so some of it was like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. I didn't figure out which was which until I'd put it together, so I had to deconstruct it and turn things around. But then the finished product came out to be so beautiful and elegant. It was time to update my 20-month old daughter’s room. Now that she sleeps on a floor bed, we removed her crib and put a bookshelf and small couch (also from Wayfair) in its place! I took my time selecting a bookshelf, and I’m glad I did. Here’s why this one was a great choice for us it’s the right height for children aged 1-6 it holds about 25-30 board books it’s simple attractive and— most importantly— the shelves are *angled.* why is this important So your books don’t fall forward! I found very, very few bookshelves that actually have this feature. NOTE the slats are not very strong, and the assembly of the slats was time-consuming and relatively frustrating.. Carolyn. Loved this bookshelf! We were long overdue for an upgrade to our bookshelf. We loved the color and the build was super super easy! The only negative I would have is the material it is made from. Some pressed wood I find to be a little more durable than this. When I went to screw in the drawers the wood cracked and super super easy to snap, even when I was being easy on it. My toddler leaned in a piece between the drawers and it snapped right in half. I put some wood glue in it and clamped for a bit in attempt to repair but it was pretty annoying that it did that.
