Stokke Austad works with product development, interiors, exhibition- and industrial design. In addition to Jonas R. Stokke and Øystein Austad, the Oslo-based agency consists of designer Delphine Rumo, Linn Tale Haugen and Joachim Levin, who work as a strategic consultant and business developer. They create value through design. They chase function, cost-efficiency, sustainable aesthetics and environmentally sound projects. Their methodical approach reveals the essence of each design challenge and allows us to create holistic and profitable solutions for our clients. Value for StokkeAustad is embedded in the studios holistic approach to design itself. Designing good products is not simply a matter of aesthetics , functionality and profit. Values is also to be found in the process of designing. Assuming that design is about value implies that we as designers are given the task of judging why a solution is better, and this is what they try to do.What is hidden behind the owls deep gaze? Is it wisdom? The Norwegian designers Stokke Austad and Andreas Engesvik have taken inspiration from mythology and the owl's importance as a visual symbol. They have simplified and stylized the human-like expression into decorative wood sculpture with no other function than to serve as an attractive and unique modern icon that fascinates and invites interpretation.
