5 stars for design 5 stars for cat love 5 stars for shipping/delivery time 1 star for the sisal scratching pad I paid extra to get the sisal scratching mat at the front of the perch. Unfortunately, the top right corner has already dislodged and is sticking out, and each time I try to shove it back into the frame, the cat undoes it. It's a great perch, and my cat took to it right away and sleeps there often, but I'm disappointed that I paid extra for a feature that fell apart less than one day after receiving it. If I'm going to pay $150+ for a piece of cat furniture, I'd expect there to be better attention to this construction detail. To others thinking of getting this perch, get it, but not this version - get the one without the scratching pad. Save the money."..."  Read more

The Ultimate Scratching Post is like a cat magnet. The moment it arrived our cat was attracted to its sisal covering, which is much more satisfying to her clawing needs than any piece of furniture. She begins every day working out on it and returns to it often. The perch has also been a big success. Sometimes she leaps up onto it and sometimes climbs the post as she would a tree and settles down to enjoy the elevated view. Our cat is relatively a relatively small 7 1/2 pounds. A very large cat might find the perch less comfortable for long stays. The sturdy base on the post means there is never any tipping. Attaching the perch to the post was not, however, as simple as the directions suggested, because the fit was not perfect. The opening on the bottom of the perch was too much wider than the wooden platform at the top of the post for the two to fit tightly together. In order to keep the perch from slipping off the post, I had to add some weather stripping on one edge of the perch's coupling structure and use a short mending plate in pace of one of the two plastic flanges supplied in order to bridge the gap between perch and the side of the top platform of the post. In spite of the inconvenience of having to make these adjustments, I would enthusiastically recommend this post and perch combination."..."  Read more

This cat perch blends in with the furniture without taking up a great amount of space. It's a comfortable size for the cat. It was easy to put it together. It allows the cat to be up high enough to feel more comfortable. We keep it in the hallway where the cat can look into two offices where we work, as there's no place from where he can do this otherwise, except the floor, & you know how cats love heights."..."  Read more

Our cat loves this. It is his "throne" that we have next to our front door in front of the entry window. In fact this is the second one of this design we have purchased. The first one, after 7 years was shredded and I'm looking into having it recovered. We have a 16 pound cat and he fits on the top and in the tunnel.
