My main objectives, when STARTING my bar stool search, were to find bar stool that matched my decor, had a clean/contemporary look, and didn't cost an arm and and leg.I went to a local barstool store and quickly discovered that most bar stools were uncomfortable. The cusions are very soft and provide no support at all. Sit on the stool for more than a few minutes and it feels like you are sitting on a bare wood barstool. The back supports are not angled correctly, forcing you to hunch or otherwise sit in an uncomfortable position. Most back supports are also the wrong hieght so they dig into your lower back when you lean back. The bar stools that are in the $100-$200 price range are really cheap. So, after spending about two hours testing bar stool, this New Rochelle barstool was the clear winner. The cusion is thick and supportive. The back is angled perfectly and is rounded so it kind of "hugs" you. The price is in the higher-mid range. Assembly of the bar stool war very simple, but it would have been nice if instructions were included.The only issues I have are: ALL bar stools are over-pricedThere were no assembly instructionsThe only reason that I don't give it a 5-star rating is because I wanted a more modern look and bar stool prices are too high - all bar stools, not just this one. We needed 4 counter height stools. We originally ordered one stool of another model to make sure we liked it before we ordered the other 3. We loved it but Wayfair didnt have any more in stock! So this stool was our second choice. We thought that it was adjustable to be either a counter height stool or a bar stool. We have them adjusted to the lowest height and it is OK. I would prefer it to be slightly lower. All in all, we like the stools. The are good looking and the seat is comfortable. The swivel is great. If they would lower a few more inches, I would give them 5 stars."..."  Read more

Bought these bar stools for a bar I just built for my basement. After going to various stores with floor models I discovered just how pricey bar stools can be. After doing a bit of online shopping I came across these stools that go well with my wood heavy basement bar decor. The price of five of these stools was about the same as one bar stool of similar style in the stores. I was skeptical as to the quality because of the cheap price but once I assembled them they are sturdy and have a decent mass to them much to my surprise even. My kids love the chair, so I am keeping the one I bought and you can't beat the price. I only bought one to see if it would work. Wanted something that could be used interchangeably between a regular kitchen height counter and an extra tall counter. We have two different height counters in our basement. Needed something that could be at the 26" height and at a 33" height. The website says the seat goes up to 33" height. Mine was at 31" and when you sit on it, it goes down to 30 inches. I think that drop in height is common for all air lift stools. So, keep that in mind when ordering these and you will be fine. Also, some people complained about the depth of the seat. The seat curves in the front, but at the deepest portion, it is about 16 inches."..."  Read more
