This large woven basket is made of soft, hand-braided paper wicker over a sturdy metal frame, so the basket stands securely and keeps its shape. The basket has a tapered shape with a wide opening and sides that dip low for a modern look and easy access to the basket’s contents. The basket has two circular handles on either side. Each handle is wrapped around the wire for extra stability. Despite its wire frame, the basket is still lightweight and easy to tote from room to room. The basket is sturdy and I love the design and the color variances throughout the weave. However, be warned, the smell at first is awful! It smells just like my grandpa’s hay barn full of hay bales! Smell is so strong it makes the entire area of the house stink for days. It has been about a week and either I’m getting used to the smell or the smell is dissipating. I will likely keep them.
