I really like the design of this bench. The dark wood finish with the black legs gives it a clean, modern, minimalistic look, and it looks even better in person. It also has a nice amount of weight to it, which makes it feel solid and sturdy rather than light or cheap. The lower shelf gives you some useful extra storage while still keeping the design simple. Assembly took me around 30 minutes and was pretty straightforward. The instructions are simple to understand, but I definitely recommend paying very close attention to the screw lengths. There are two different sizes, and while the manual does show which ones to use, it is very easy to overlook if you are moving too quickly. I made that mistake myself and accidentally used the longer screws on the main top section. They went all the way through the wood and created visible spots on the top surface. That was completely my mistake, so I am not blaming the product for it, but I do wish the instructions had included a more noticeable warning about the different screw lengths because one small mistake can affect the appearance of an otherwise beautiful piece of furniture. Aside from that mistake, I am very happy with it. It feels sturdy, looks great, and the simple design makes it easy to use in an entryway, bedroom, hallway, or anywhere you need some extra seating and storage.
