UpCycle Products Rain Barrels

The 50 Gallon Terra Cotta Rainbarrel is a slightly smaller version of our 55-gallon Terra Cotta Barrels. Heavy-Duty Screening keeps mosquitoes out. Our rain barrels are uniquely designed with plastic fittings that match the rate of expansion and contraction of barrel plastic from season to season to avoid leakage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used imported food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of High-Density Polyethylene Plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the Spring and Fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel filling cycles. We use a PH-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.

The Pedestal Riser helps to get a little more water pressure from the Rain Barrel and to raise the spigot a little higher to put a watering can under it.

For a homeowner that has downspouts that are extended at the ground or downspouts that go directly into the ground. The automatic diverters are made from upcycled vinyl fence post covers and attach directly to our rain barrels via an attachment hose. Universal size automatic rain water diverter to fit either a 2" x 3" or 3" x 4" downspout. Barrel will fill when empty. Once barrel is full the rainwater will be diverted back to the original downspout automatically. 12" Hose is provided.

This netting is the perfect inexpensive solution for the gardener who wants a rain barrel but doesn’t want a rain barrel that draws attention. This is a black plastic netting that comes with clips to hold it around the barrel. Since our Rain Barrels are meant to stay outside all year, the perfect choice of plant coverage would be a perennial plant can be grown over the barrel and provide coverage all year long.
