Have been using this composter for several weeks now and there has been zero smell or issue with insects. It's very spacious too, it will take me the rest of the summer to fill it probably. Very pleased with this composter. It took about 1hr to put together. The instructions were clear and concise. The screws and such were clearly labeled and in separate bags. The cranking and locking mechanism seem to work well. After I assembled it I entirely filled one side and was able to crank and lock without issue. I’m super excited to have this compost bin. Assembly was straightforward and everything snapped together perfectly. I like the open bottom so that earthworms will have easy access to the compost. Loving this new backyard compost bin to replace our old one. There’s so much to like about this new COMPOSTING BIN FROM WAYFAIR 1. It is very sturdy and easy to use 2. It has 2 separate bins within the 50 gallon barrel design which rotates for faster composting of yard leaves and kitchen plant-based scraps 3. It is raised above the ground on a stand to keep the squirrels ️ and other rodents away that had been raiding our last bin 4. It has easy access to each of the 2 bins with just the turn of the bright green knob to open it 5. Recieved super fast. This was easy to put together. Also, it came with general use instructions. It has 2 sides, barrier in middle. We are new to composting, so I havent started anything in it yet. It was out of stock for months and is seriously expensive so I knocked it down a star. At first, when I ordered it they said I wouldn't get it for several more months (we're looking at close to a year wait at this point) but it showed up just a week after my order went through. The composter itself looks sturdy though it's too new to tell for long-term durability. It was easy to put together. I had my heart set on THIS composter, and sadly couldn't find it anywhere else, trust me I looked. I planned to turn it into R2D2. Which I did. The body took the spray paint well. Good looking product, but assembly was tedious. Follow the Instructions exactly for quickest results, but don’t expect to do it in two hours. Two glitches. The bolts supplied with the cart were not long enough and required a trip to the hardware store for longer ones. Only every other hole on one drum end were in alignment. A power drill remedied that. I have some concern about the quality of the steel fastening that will be contacting the composting material. Am concerned that the plated fasteners will corrode quickly. I like that I didnt have to screw but 2 bolts. The frame snaps together and the tumbler only needs the center partition placed and then the door slides on. 10 minutes! Its nice and sturdy, and easy to tumble. The compost will be easy to remove by sliding the door open and rotating it downward. My compost is only a week into the making and its 80 degrees.
