I love this bench. The seat is firm The whole bench seems very well-made. The wood is pretty. There is a vent on the floor in my entry and because of the wood slats in the shelves I was able to set it over the vent without blocking the airflow. The bench is not very wide, so it doesn’t stick out into my entry, but it’s wide enough to sit on and bend over to put on shoes. My husband has large feet and his shoes. Don’t stick out from the shelves. (Although one shoe in the photo is not pushed all the way in, so it appears to stick out) I was so surprised to realize how well the fabric matches my walls! This bench was made by hand in India. It was created by local village weavers who first weave the fabric, making it to the exact dimensions needed and then upholster onto the handmade sheesham wood frame.

Better than expected; the woven top is so cute and the color of the wood is a rich medium brown which matches well with my cherry furniture. Solid weight as well so it won’t tip over easily . I have a small (think skinny fat) living space that holds a fair amount of furniture, but the footrest of my husband's recliner is wide and created issues with my coffee table in front of my couch (where I normally sit). I could not find a coffee table that fit my criteria, so started looking at benches. This bench, although not deep (16"), was perfect. It is less deep than the one I'm replacing, and a few inches longer; plus it also has the bottom shelf for extra storage. There was a really wide selection of wood finishes and upholstery and I found a color combo that works beautifully in our space. If the size and customization of this bench wasn't enough to win me over, the piéce de resistance is that it is hard wood and woven rattan for more of a coastal feel which fits our decor to a T..
