Gets 5 stars because it was just what I needed and suited the family's needs perfectly. Having said that, here are some things to consider: 1. This is a small, somewhat flimsy piece; I carried up 3 flights of stairs under one arm without losing a single breath. For all its light and flimsiness, it seems sturdier once assembled. One adult can sit on it, and it feels solid, not shaky at all. 2. The materials are flimsy wood, but the finish is a nice color and shiny, once the cabinet is assembled, you can no longer tell the wood is thin. The finished look of the product is nice. The "glass" is a fluted plastic, but once installed, it is hard to tell, impossible maybe, unless you get on the floor to stare at it. Plastic is probably a better choice here anyhow, as no one will accidentally kick it and shatter the glass. I love that the obscured glass effect allows you to see which shoes are in there without having them on display as in open shoe storage, which I very much dislike. 3. It stores 5 pairs of FLAT shoes, no heels, boots, or high-top. I fit my low Chelsea boots in there just barely. Fits 6 pairs if kids shoes or mixing women's and kids. If storing men's shoes or anything over women's size 9/39.5, maybe 4 pairs total, which is less than advertised. So it's smaller in storage capacity and lighter than you'd imagine, but it is perfect for a small space. I used it on an upstairs landing where I could have fit something larger, but this allowed for a mat, umbrella stand, and more open space on the landing, which just looks much better and is safer, given stairs nearby.
