After researching a lot of options, I chose this safe due to its greater capacity to resist higher temperature fires and standing for several days in water, as well as its certification for holding small firearms. it's a compact size with a heavy-duty design. The extra mechanical keys are great to have in case there is a problem with the electronic keypad. The shelves are padded and there is additional storage in the inside of the door. It's helpful to have the bolt-down kit that will deter anyone from attempting to remove the safe from its location. It's a quality design and seems to be, so far, worth the price, compared to other options. It also arrive in great condition as it was packaged really well, as you can see in the photos.. Kendra. Perfect for discreet placement in a bedroom closet or study, this safe requires no tools to set up. With added conveniences like quiet-open mode and gentle interior lighting, it’s the thoughtful solution for securely storing what matters most.

Although it was packaged well, it somehow came with a small dent in the side (see picture). While this does not affect the cabinet’s purpose in any way, it was a gift for my husband and it just found this disappointing. Other than that, it is very nice overall. Not oversized and comes completely assembled. The inside is done very nicely with an eye towards maximizing the space for rifles, pistols, magazines and ammo. Both keys and code unlock it with ease. I really like that they included the bolts to enable solid mounting against a wall. My husband is very happy with it.. Patricia Gayle. Tyler, TX. Mon Aug 10 2026

Its anti-theft alarm activates with vibration or three incorrect entries, sounding for 60 seconds. The interior features a luxury jewelry drawer with glide rails and 3 adjustable shelves (the inner box is fixed), while the entire space is lined with premium velvet for scratch protection. Two entry methods are available: password + handle or emergency key + handle, with an external battery compartment. Four bottom screw holes allow for secure floor installation.

Keep a handgun and small valuables organized in a compact, low-profile safe designed for flexible everyday placement. This KAER portable handgun safe offers three access methods—fingerprint recognition, a 4–6 digit PIN code, and a hidden emergency keyhole—with storage for up to 20 fingerprints. A gas-strut-assisted lid opens smoothly, while the built-in LED light and soft foam lining provide better visibility and added protection for stored items. Silent mode, an incorrect-entry alarm, a low-battery reminder, an included safety cable, and two bottom mounting holes support secure and convenient use at home, in an office, or in a vehicle where permitted.

We’re really impressed with this safe. It has a good amount of interior space—we currently have one handgun, but there’s definitely enough room for two along with a few other items. The construction feels genuinely heavy duty and secure, not thin or flimsy. I also like having multiple ways to access it with the fingerprint reader, keypad, and backup keys. The interior padding is a nice touch as well. Overall, it feels well made, sturdy, and exactly what we were looking for for secure storage.. Whitney. Kathleen, GA. Mon Sep 14 2026

This is heavy metal! See how thick the lid is? I have some other cheap gun safes but those are like tin-can to this one. It is solid heavy, 12 gauge steel I guess? Surprised for this price. Big enough for my 2 guns and clips. Programming is simple and straight-forward, easy to use. Fingerprint works well, the spring lid pops up pretty quick. You can turn sounds off pretty easy by a button click, very convenient. Love it. Greg. NJ. Mon Apr 20 2026

I was genuinely impressed with the packaging. Each piece was individually wrapped and had a metal frame inside the box to prevent damage. Unfortunately it quickly went down hill from there. I received zero instructions so an estimated 20 minute assembly turned into 2 hours. Each of the pieces are held in with just self-tappets while majority of the holes do not line up. Make sure you have a drill/bits because I cant imagine using the provided screw driver to drive the screws into place. I wouldn't trust this to keep my firearms safe at all. Caution: The cabinet will begin to tip towards the operator with the door open when empty.. Anonymous. Thu Apr 16 2026

This KAER gun safe features a spacious, multi-zone interior for organizing rifles, pistols, ammunition, valuables, and accessories. Its assembly-required design provides more usable storage space than many fully assembled cabinets. A subtle printed pattern creates a clean, understated look that blends easily into bedrooms, offices, closets, or garages. Fingerprint, keypad, backup key, and emergency power access provide convenient entry. Secure the cabinet to a solid wall using the rear mounting holes to improve stability and help prevent tipping.

Good basic safe for keeping firearms secure from children I’m satisfied with this safe for what it is. Assembly took approximately two hours, so be prepared to spend some time putting it together. Once assembled, it feels reasonably sturdy and does what I purchased it to do. The electronic lock is a nice convenience and makes accessing the safe much easier than dealing with a traditional key lock. The primary purpose for me is keeping firearms safely secured and out of the hands of curious children, and I believe it accomplishes that well. That said, buyers should have realistic expectations about the level of security this safe provides. It is not a high-security safe designed to withstand a determined thief, and it offers no fire protection whatsoever. I would consider it a good option for basic firearm storage and keeping unauthorized family members from accessing firearms, but I would look at a much heavier and more robust safe if theft or fire protection is a major concern. Overall, it’s a good value for its intended purpose, but it’s important to understand what you are and are not getting.. Liz. Virginia Beach, VA. Mon Sep 14 2026
