John Louis Home Solid Wood Open Top Storage Bench

The assembly instructions are terrible, and assembling it should have been easy. I wish the base were stronger, but it looks nice and is comfortable to sit on. Overall I’m happy with it.

The bench did not come with assembly instructions. Having put furniture together with similar hardware, I was able to complete the assembly without the instructions. My wife loves her new trunk as it gives her additional needed storage space.

Nice looking storage bench. I wish the bottom of the storage was solid wood because it is pretty thin particle board material. It seems to be good quality other than the bottom.

While I love this bench, the instructions have some shortcomings. The left and right ends are nearly identical. But if you get them on the wrong side, then at the almost very last stage where your attaching The spring mechanism, the pre-drilled holes will be in the wrong position. And the spring mechanism is horrible to try to attach. I would definitely buy it again but just be warned when putting it together.

It looks nice. It arrived without instructions at all. I had to jump through hoops to get them emailed to me. It was a semi challenging construction project. One of the holes was not completely drilled through and luckily, I have a drill so I could remedy that situation. One of the long screws had a malformed top and the little screwdriver that came with the kit could not be used. I will contact the manufacturer tomorrow and ask them to send me out a replacement. The upholster top looks decent, but I don’t imagine it’s going to wear well. I may take it to my upholsterer and get a better foam and a different fabric to cover it with. I feel I got equal value for the price 

I love it. I have it at the foot of my bed and it looks beautiful It has a lot of storage for my bed linens

Nice solid bench but the hardware doesn’t fit all that well.

Very nice storage/sitting bench. Fairly easy to put together and looks great. I purchased it for my bedroom to store my heavier blankets during the summer months and as an additional spot for me to sit to put on my socks/shoes. I’m 65 now and as I age this will come in handy as my balance slowly deteriorates. I’m almost 200 lbs and the bench seems to handle the weight very well.
