Built with a large opening and flat back design, this barrel allows an easy installation and placement of the downspout, while the spoke and wheel pattern keeps them child and pet-safe. The overflow connection at the back of the barrel allows excess water to flow down underneath the barrel to direct it away from the foundations. Including spigots on the side of the barrels, you'll be able to connect multiple Rain Catcher barrels for an easy expansion of your rainwater storage capacity. In addition, the aluminum mesh screen keeps out debris while ensuring the water remains safe. Please note, that this barrel is not suitable for freezing temperatures. It must be drained and flipped to avoid ice damage or it will void the warranty. Place the bin around your home to catch fresh chlorine-free water as it pours from your downspouts. Our rain barrels are uniquely designed with plastic fittings that match the rate of expansion and contraction of barrel plastic from season to season to avoid leakage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of high-density polyethylene plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the spring and fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. We use a ph-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm.
