Our lift-top coffee table features a wooden top that smoothly raises or lowers by a high-quality metal mechanism and spring. Great for a laptop, writing surface, or tray, this table is versatile and dynamic. It has a dynamic frame made from steel and engineered wood with a distinctive finish that works nicely with just about any style or color scheme. Two lower shelves at the same height give you spots for board games, blankets, and baskets. And the upper compartment is the perfect stowaway location for remotes and coasters. This table can support up to 200 lbs.

The instructions were straightforward and the assembly process was mostly easy. The table feels solid, looks nice, and was a great deal. However, the two metal lifting mechanisms included with my package did not match. Only one of them lined up with the diagram on the instructions, and neither one lined up correctly with the screw holes in the table. Ultimately I used a power drill and simply screwed them in as well as I could (I did not want to deal with a back-and-forth attempt at replacements). Now the top panel does not line up completely perfectly with the corners of the table when closed, but fundamentally it works fine and rests level.
