Spa-Inspired Bathroom Update Under $100

From dated to dreamy, see this budget-friendly bathroom transformation.

When we bought our house, the master bathroom was a bright salmon pink. While the color was cheerful it cast a pink haze that made applying makeup a bit difficult.

The first thing we did was roll on a fresh coat of paint! A pale grayish-beige color on the walls and a bright white on the cabinets immediately made the room look light and airy.

But I still wanted more of a spa-like feel, mostly because my favorite thing to do at night is relax in a bubble bath with a glass of wine and a good book. I loved our roomy bathtub but there was no way to keep things like my favorite bath salts within reach.

I also love having candles in the bathroom but the only place to put them was on the windowsill which meant leaving the curtains open to avoid a fire hazard. Well, that just seemed a little bit indecent.

So I decided to hang a picture shelf above the bathtub to store my bath products.

I grouped them together with some glass candle holders and vases to reflect the light.

Then I hung a vintage-inspired bath picture over the shelf. Next to the framed picture, I hung beautiful and budget-friendly chandelier candle sconces .

Along with my favorite bath caddy, it makes for the perfect spa-like reatreat and the whole project cost under $100!

I love the makeover, the whole room feels bigger and the bathtub area is pretty but also much more efficient! While there is a lot more we'd like to do to the space, this was a great way to update the room without spending a lot of money. And after a long day spent in the role of "mommy" it's the perfect place to unwind.
