How to Throw the Ultimate Game Day Party
Blogger Cassity Kmetzsch, of Remodelaholic, walks you through three steps to the perfect game day.
There are three things that are really important on game day:
1) The entertainment set up (you have to have the big screen)
2.The seating (you have to be able to see the big screen)
3) The food (of course, the food!)

The Entertainment
My husband is in TV heaven. He is particularly excited for the 3D capabilities (I know what Santa is getting him) and is already planning viewing parties.
The sound bar, like the TV, also has built-in WiFi and Bluetooth. The family plays music from our phones through the sound bar all the time. (Our living room has become my daughter's dance studio, especially at night when our big window becomes a mirror. I'm sure the neighbors get a kick out of seeing the kids dancing in front of it!)
The Seating
For the party, we knew we needed to add plenty of seating. Before that, we only had our sofa and an armchair in the room. We had a couple small fur stools and that was it.
Our living room is average sized, but the shape is long and skinny. Trying to furnish the space is a little bit of a challenge, but we managed to fit a lot of seating around the room and keep the open feel.
We also added chairs to the room.
We got two small side chairs from Wayfair. Because these were at the front of the room by our TV and fireplace, we didn't want them to be too big.
To keep the space feeling open and visually light, we went with clear acrylic side tables to in between the chairs. We added an orange pouf for a little whimsy.
Between the couch, the bench, three chairs, and various poufs and stools, we were ready to go! We had over 30 people in our house with 18 to 24 of them in the living room at one time with plenty of room to spare.
Moreover we accomplished all the seating without blocking the amazing view through our 10-foot window of Utah's gorgeous mountains.
The Food
The food! A super important part to any game day party. We set up quite the display—complete with a football theme!
Tip! We put the kids at tables in the kitchen while eating to protect the rug and furniture!
