Well made heavy duty, thought it would improve efficiency of my Classic #1. Definitely would make clean out easier. I haven’t used it yet for 4 reasons. One is reported increased charcoal consumption. Two a lot of smaller charcoal pieces that are still productive will end up in the clean out tray (maybe the reason for increased consumption). Three, it works really well with the disc that comes in it. Four I prefer the fit of the original ash floor plate better. I doubt I will ever use it, but you never know.

I bought this for my classic and I’m not impressed. The basket sits too high to use the divide plates when cooking indirect. The basket needs to be removed and the cast iron grate at the bottom replaced to cook indirect. Also, grates and inner ring have to be removed to shake the coals in basket. Waste of money!!

This basket has increased airflow tremendously! It should come standard with the grill.

I had a Komatsu style grille before and it was Ok, but the Kamado Joe is next-level! It’s like comparing a Toyota to a Lexus, they are both excellent cars but the fit and finish and touches of the Lexus make it stand out and so it is with these grilles. The online buying experience was also excellent with frequent updates as to the status of the order and setup of the delivery. This is a HUGE heavy grille so make sure you have help to place it! Zero regrets and I’m not sure what else I would put on a wish-list.

Amazing high quality and function! Beautiful heavy chrome with openings to save charcoal big enough to reuse. Lift it out to clean the grill and no picking through or waste.

There is so much airflow to the charcoal it unbelievable. Just pick it up a little and shake. All the ash and very small pieces fall apart to the ash pan. Definitely worth the cost.
