I noted some reviews indicated nicks in the chairs. Purchased 4 chairs and 2 arrived damaged, both in the same location (back of left back leg, see photos). There must be something in the manufacture or packaging process that is creating this unfortunate damage. A third chair had a tiny nick in the same location - small enough a stain pen can resolve. We have not started assembly as yet. The color is nice, they are all wood which was important to me. I will update review if we experience any assembly issues. Note that one shipping box was damaged but luckily did not damage contents.

Overall, I think these chairs are fine. They are certainly comfortable. Not sure how long they will last, but knowing they are not overly expensive needs to factor into one's expectation. The white does have a distressed look although it is not overly obvious (I took a picture of it up close on the seat back). Be aware when ordering that the seat does not have pre-drilled holes for attaching it to the chair base. You will need to spend some time centering the seat before attaching it. My husband put all 4 chairs together without issues, but it was a bit more time consuming than we expected.
