While the death of great Salvador Dali was an unfathomable loss for the world of art, his genius continues to live on. More and more works inspired by his capricious style appear and this particular piece, handwoven from the highest quality wool, looks as if it was found in Dali’s atelier. The pattern consists of seemingly random splashes of color spread all over the background. Although this composition looks chaotic, a closer look reveals some resemblance to order. The colors themselves are rather subdued and cold-toned, but it does not take away any of the area rug‘s vast charm – on the contrary, such a palette makes the modern carpet design appear more original. Such a modern piece would look best in an equally modern setting, however, minimalist interiors will undoubtedly love it too. Doris Leslie Blau grants clients looking for contemporary abstract rugs and modern area rug collections a unique opportunity to make their statement with a floor covering that is truly their own and truly one of a kind. Doris Leslie Blau carries an exceptional collection of original modern rugs in many styles and materials. Contemporary hand-made rugs are a bridge throughout history, they are the fruit of the constant evolution of the weaving craft that has accompanied men since the dawn of civilization.
