Looks stunningly beautiful but Sheds like 10 golden retrievers shedding constantly. A useless rug

I have a love-hate relationship with this rug. It's a high quality, thick rug and I love the colors in my kid’s playroom. It also matches really well with the agave nugget couch (Not pictured), but I've had it for more than 3 years now, and it still sheds profusely - like clogs up my vacuum cleaner multiple times every single time. I can't sit down without being absolutely covered in little fibers, and I worry about my 1 y.o. inhaling and eating the fibers. Time to look for a new rug.

I got this rug for my baby’s nursery. Originally gave this 5 stars based on appearance. Now I am giving it ONE. This rug has not stop shedding 4 months later despite vacuuming multiple times a week. I contacted customer service and was put in touch with Safavieh, the manufacturer, who disregarded my safety concerns and sent me care instructions for the rug. They claim the shedding of the rug should get better after several weeks of vacuuming, but it hasn’t gotten better after several MONTHS (see picture of what came out of my vacuum- mind you my vacuum cleaner basin was cleaned out prior to doing this rug just to show how much comes up in two minutes of vacuuming). The fibers are all over the bedroom, my house, and have made their way onto my living room coffee table- I’ve probably ingested some at this point. This is so unsafe for my baby’s respiratory and digestive system that we have no choice but to get rid of it. DO NOT PURCHASE RUGS FROM SAFAVIEH- they are hazardous!

Bought this rug for my daughters kindergarten classroom. It is so, so cute! The quality is exceptional.
