Brown Solid Wood Chicken Coops

It is constructed from high-quality solid fir wood. All timber is T&G plained to avoid splintering. All joints are mortise and tenon.

The description is accurate. It's pretty small. Four chickens max, three is better. All the materials are light weight which makes it feel cheap, but it's well built. You couldn't build your own for the price of this coop. I recommend a few things for increasing its longevity. 1) Run a smooth bead of exterior caulk along the edges of the roof where it meets the trim mould. This will keep water from penetrating and ruining the edges of the roof and trim. 2) The screws aren't quite enough to make the coop stable. I recommend using a handful of galvanized 2 1/2 in. finishing nails at the joints to reinforce and strengthen the structure. 3) Put the structure on blocks/bricks to avoid rot where the coop contacts the ground. 4) Inspect the coop frequently and expect occasional repairs/maintenance.. Was easy enough to put together, alone. It's exactly as pictured. I bought it to give my 5 hens somewhere to stay warm this winter. I did not however stop to think about how large my hens are and they will only get bigger. I should have read specs closer and bought bigger. My hens are one of the biggest breeds. Hopefully they will use it this winter. I covered the run to keep too much sun and rain off them. It's also connected to 2 other large runs. Vickie. Silver Springs, NV. Tue Oct 06 2026

This PawHut poultry pen allows you to expand rather than replace your current chicken coop when you need more room. It offers a convenient linkable design that can merge two together. With climate-safe materials, you can avoid unhealthy ingredients and treat your animal home with care while protecting the planet we live on.

Needed a space for my chicks after hatching that was spacious and could transition with them during a 6 week grow out phase. I really liked this. I like the side door access that opens readily into the space and is wide enough to get in. I like the height that allowed for me to hang a heat conduction lamp on the inside instead of sitting one on top of the wired roof. I did have to reinforce the top with wider wood panel frame to better support the wire mesh top otherwise if a cat jumped on top I wouldn't have been suprised if there wouldn't have been issues with wire integrity given that the frame is pretty simple. I added the styrefoam from the packaging as siding to prevent breeze and contain some of the chick bedding. Cats liked it too =). Christina. Bellevue, WA. Wed Jul 08 2026

It is a little small for 4 chickens, but it arrived with no damage and was fairly easy to assemble. Took 2 of us less than hour. Didn't use the wheels as I am going to put it in one place and not move it around. To use as a tractor would definitely not be big enough for 4 chickens. I have 4 chickens. I think they are going to fit in this coop perfectly. I feel like the number of chickens a coop will fit is so often overestimate but this one is spot on. Building it wasn't hard at all. Two down sides. It had a strong chemical smell but I left it out for a few days and it's gone. Also, a couple of places a screw cracked the wood. Overall, super sturdy coop that I'd definitely get again.. Dawn. Clinton Township, MI. Tue Mar 31 2026

If you want to make your chickens happy or rest when going out, the exercise toys we have prepared for the hens in the chicken coop are the perfect choice. They will have enough space to spread their wings while playing and relaxing on the chicken swing. The top platform is designed to allow them to climb higher, rather than playing on the ground. The product is equipped with a sturdy spruce frame and sturdy base, so your hen is safe to play, relax, and peck on it.

Sturdy. Not as tall and long as I thought it would be. Instructions could have some written instructions, so I struggled somewhat. I will be getting a heavier link chain for the swing. The string they provided is flimsy and doesnt hold the wood straight. The one im using now is too stretchy. I added some toys to it also. I think my chickens are going to like it.. Marsha.
