I opted to use toggle bolts for the installation, but because the platform goes in the corner, you can only use them to attach to one wall. Unfortunately, I ordered this as open box and the "front" of the house was broken and one of the steps cracked as soon as my cats stepped on it (unclear if it was already damaged before I installed it). I need to reach out about replacement but know that ordering open box was a risk. Aside from that, this was easy to put together and install, but I used toggle bolts for more secure attachments. The box was a bit heavy for me (66 year old female) but once I opened it and took everything out one at a time piece by piece, I was fine. I purchased two of these to put side by side underneath my picture window (haven't assembled the second one yet). The cushion that comes with it is fine, but by making the perch on top longer, I will be able to use her favorite pillow instead (securing wth velcro).
