Pretty good. Holes are predrilled but only on outer edges. Be careful when screwing together because it can split very easily. We have 4 kids (all 11 and under) and 5 prey driven dogs. I needed a super safe place to keep our guinea pigs and this critter cabinet is absolutely perfect for that! We can easily see them doing all their guinea pig stuff. Assembly took me about 3 hours by myself. Directions were easy to follow and I didn’t end up missing anything so the frustration level was nice and low. The lights are our favorite touch. We can see them any time we want but they have a nice dark hideout just in case they need it. I don’t think the access to the hideout is a big deal. If you absolutely need to grab one you can pull out the tray some. Our piggies loved their new home and I also love the peace of mind it gives me knowing they aren’t in a wire cage anymore where my dogs could accidentally get too rough and break them out lol I definitely would recommend this cage. Dimensions are accurate even though the set feels smaller than pictured. A couple drawbacks experienced were that some of the panel pieces came in warped, not bad but enough to deal with. A couple panels were also cracked with small pieces coming off. Overall could use a little design revision, but not a bad setup, just use it somewhere that it can be covered / protected from the elements as it will not survive multiple seasons fully exposed.. This was the perfect sized little abode for a single bantam rooster we have. We got it in gray even though the gray shows a red coop, our gray order was in fact gray. I can't speak for the longevity as the wood floor and walls are VERY thin, and I'm not sure I would rely on if being super secure from harsh weather or from savvy predators, but we have it inside a secure run that has a canopy over it, so it won't get super wet where we have it and the run we have is predator proof. Hard to find single-chicken coops like this, and the price was great. With a little protection from the elements, I think it will work out for several years plus, and it perfectly fulfilled our needs. I do wish it had an optional roosting bar in it.. Daniel.
