There are two doors, one on top and one in front. The front door works both ways, the top door opens outwards. I did have to make sure the cover was snapped together properly so the front door didn't catch. The front is hinged to lift up further if needed for cleaning. I really appreciate the slots in the front of the box to catch litter back into the pan. It works well in conjunction with the stool to help prevent litter being scattered on the floor. I also like the scent absorber in the top. The holder for it will accommodate other scent absorbers when it needs to be replaced. It also comes with a stainless steel scoop that can be conveniently hung on the side of the pan. You do have to put it together when it comes in. Instructions are included. They are easy enough to understand and assembly is pretty straightforward. The cover is two parts that snap together with plastic tabs. Then the cover goes on the stainless steel pan and snaps on with side latches. You can undo the latches to take the top off if needed. Once the cat has made his business inside, there are four steps to follow: 1.Lift the perforated base. 2.Sift the sand, letting it slide down into the tray, making sure it separates from the dirty one. 3.Throw away the dirty, thickened sand left on the sieve. 4.Integrate new clean litter into the still usable sand that remains in the standard base. In a few moves the work is done! For the correct functioning of the Ariel sieving system, we recommend to use fine-grained litters like sand. Do not use coarse-grained gel litter or chipboards.

Love the size and wedge shape. Lasts forever, just pricey. Only corner box that fits in our laundry room and we can still open the dryer because the curved edge doesn't block it. We had the top entry for years and it holds up super well with occasional deep cleaning. Our cats are getting older, so we decided to try the front entry. A bit more litter gets on the floor with the front entry because our babies get serious about burying their treasure, but a litter trap mat will solve that issue. The box itself is awesome! Stainless steel, so no more trapped odors and scratched up plastic bins. Front and top entries. Removable lid both partially and fully. Sturdy and high quality. Scooper included with a little groove on either side of the box to hang it on. Small litter trapper step that I don't think is beneficial for me because my cat BOLTS out of his box like he's being chased by a wolf! So I used a large litter mat (not that he actually walks out on it, but it might catch a tiny bit of litter while he's storming out lol) So far, my big guy showed no interest in actually using the box. He's a 14 lbs. domestic shorthair, but he's rather long. So the box might be a bit too small and tight for him. I am still hopeful he'd eventually put it to use because I absolutely love this box!. The design is good. It took our cat a transition period to become accustomed to the top entry as initially he seemed fearful of being contained. It would be nice if the front swing door could be latched. We have the door tuned into the wall as we purchased this design to keep our puppy/dog from fishing cat stool out of the litter box.
