This is likely not what many people are using this skate for, but were doing it to help socialize our wonderful new dog with my two cats, one of them is not very dog savvy. I do love the design of this gate. It’s so tall that my kitties can’t go over, around, through, or under. I even like the way it opens to let me go through, without having to negotiate a bottom rail to trip on. It locks securely and was easily assembled and carefully packed. It’s attractive and exceptionally useful. My only concerns: My doorway was not true. It apparently is a few millimeters wider near the top than bottom, so the center doesn’t meet the same way in the top as bottom. This is not the fault of the gate, so I did not deduct a star. My other concern is that there’s a lot of plastic parts. I wish all the components were made of metal. This is great. I was looking for a permanent solution to keep the dog from the front door and a way to separate the dogs from my niece when she visits. This is perfect fix. This gate is really solid and well made. It's definitely on the heavy side, especially when it's folded up and you need to move it, but I actually don't mind because it makes it feel sturdy and secure. The only thing I had to do was attach the stabilizing feet with a few screws, which was quick and easy. I love that it has a walk-through gate, and it's nice that you can also configure it into a playpen if you want. I'm using mine as a divider for my family room, and it works perfectly. I'm happy with the gates but the door could use some improvement. You have to lift the door to match the closing bracket. It works great once it's closed. It looks nice.
