The bottom is equipped with anti-slip rubber pads to protect the floor and maintain stability. Overall, this is a very nice table. I could not give it five stars because of the difficulty in putting the 12 screws for the hinges in. Although the instructions do not indicate a drill is needed to start the holes and then a drill is also needed to screw in the screws. Because the wood is not prepared for the screws, doing it by hand is not possible. It is easy to put together other than that. The instructions were easy to read and the set was overall simple to put together. Some pieces however did require more than one person to put it together,my teenage daughter was able to build the entire set practically by herself.
