The carpet is shredding right away. I tried this because my cats like carpet and sisal but I wouldn't buy this brand again.

Nice, small scratching post, perfect for my bedroom so my kitty can scratch it instead of a small upholstered chair I have in the room. Just the right amount of carpet and rope. My cat likes to lay on the bottom stand portion and lazily reach up to scratch the rope. He also likes rubbing his face on the carpet, also from a laying position. He also prefers the type of carpet on this post, rather than the faux fur type carpet. Decent price; about what I was willing to spend for the size of the scratcher.
